Install

Open the disk image, drag Write It Down to Applications, then eject the disk image. To check the download, run this in Terminal and compare the result with the SHA-256 above:

shasum -a 256 Write-It-Down-1.0.dmg

The app is signed with a Developer ID. When you open it the first time, macOS names the developer as Ziying WANG (Developer ID).

Activate

Your first 3 writing sessions are free. After the third, writing needs a license: $4.99 once for 2 computers. Buy a license, then paste the key from the purchase page into the app.

Refunds

You have 14 days from purchase to ask for a refund, no reason needed. The license then stops working on every Mac.
