Terms
Write It Down has a free browser writing room and a Mac app with a free trial. No account is required.
The rule is real
You write forward. Deleting, pasting, cutting, and undoing are blocked. After five seconds without input, a warning appears. After eight seconds, the current draft is deleted.
The first input starts a sixty-second session. If that deadline arrives before the wipe deadline, your text is kept on screen so you can copy it. If both deadlines arrive together, the draft is wiped. A wiped room can be restarted by typing.
No backup
Kept does not mean saved. Copy your text before leaving. The trial has no cloud storage or recovery. Do not use it as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Your writing
Your words remain yours. We claim no ownership of them. You are responsible for what you write and how you use it.
Availability
The trial is provided as is. Browsers, devices, or network failures may interrupt it. To the extent allowed by law, we do not promise uninterrupted access or accept liability for lost drafts. These terms do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.
Mac app
The Mac app includes 3 free writing sessions. A session counts once you type its first character. After that, writing in the Mac app requires a license: $4.99 once for two computers, with a 14-day refund and no subscription. Free updates included. The browser trial stays free. The price is shown on the Mac page and at checkout. The no-backup rule above applies to the Mac app too.
Refunds
You can ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason. Contact support with the email address used at checkout. The refund is paid to the original payment method, and the refunded license stops working.
